State Representative C.D. Davidsmeyer (R-Murrayville) released the following statement concerning the new law in Illinois that prohibits cash bail:
“This legislation was rushed through the General Assembly, didn’t include the experts, and was poorly written, leaving much confusion on the implementation of this ignorant policy.
I will continue to work with law enforcement, prosecutors, and court administrators to identify and fix the mistakes made by Democrat lawmakers who seem focused on virtue-signaling ahead of Chicago’s place in the national spotlight as host city for next year’s Democratic National Convention in Chicago.”
