30th Illinois Fallen Firefighter Memorial and Medal of Honor Ceremony Held at Capitol

The Illinois Firefighter Memorial is dedicated to the firefighters of Illinois, who have given their lives in the line of duty and to those firefighters who heroically serve with courage, pride and honor. Today the 30th ceremony was held at the Illinois Firefighter Memorial in Springfield. Those who have died in the line of duty were remembered, and six firefighters were awarded the Medal of Honor.

If you are the spouse or child of an Illinois fire or police officer who was killed or became at least 90 percent disabled in the line of duty, you may be eligible for the Grant Program for Dependents of Police or Fire Officers.
