Jacksonville, IL…State Representative CD Davidsmeyer (R-Jacksonville) released the following statement in response to Governor Rauner’s decision to call the General Assembly into special session.
“After waiting half the month of June for Speaker Madigan, who makes the House schedule, to call us back into session, I am happy that the Governor has stepped up to get us back to work.
As we return, I hope that the Speaker’s majority will begin to openly discuss a realistic budget that relies on real compromise to move Illinois forward.
It is past time to come together, compromise, and make the tough decisions necessary to pass a truly balanced budget.”
