Rep. C.D. Davidsmeyer, a Jacksonville Republican who is another co-sponsor of Bourne’s bill, said the important thing is to ensure workers continue to be paid.
“At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if it’s the Democrat bill or the Republican bill, as long as it doesn’t screw up state services any further,” Davidsmeyer said. “There’s enough politics in all of this stuff that it doesn’t need a Republican or Democrat answer. It just needs an answer.”
