Illinois Rep. C.D. Davidsmeyer said he felt the restrictions were too harsh when the governor first instituted the rules.
“I thought it was a little over the top because I consider a program like that to be an investment,” Davidsmeyer said. “You’re encouraging people to continue to work, to continue to pay taxes and set a good example for their kids as opposed to not having the services and putting them in a position where they might not be able to work.”
