Photo Winners and Student Art Contest

Jacksonville, IL…State Representative CD Davidsmeyer’s (R – Jacksonville) fall photo contest winners are: Angela Dunnagan , Marcy Patterson and Kyla Hurt. The winning photos will be displayed at Rep. Davidsmeyer’s legislative office in Springfield and on his website at cddavidsmeyer.org.

 “Thank you to Angela, Marcy and Kyla for helping to bring a little bit of the 100th District to my Springfield office. I have had a great response from around the District, which makes me incredibly excited for my next contest – kid’s art,” said Davidsmeyer.

Rep. Davidsmeyer’s third and final art contest for the year is for students. First and second categories are for students in kindergarten through 2nd grade, and 3rd grade through 5th grade. These two categories will compete in a coloring contest. The coloring page can be downloaded at Rep. Davidsmeyer’s website (www.cddavidsmeyer.org). One winner from each category will be chosen. Entries will be judged on coloring neatness, creativity and color awareness.

The third category is for students in 6th through 8th grades, and the fourth category is freshmen through high school seniors. They will compete by drawing or painting a picture of their community, school, church, home or nature scene that represents the 100th Legislative District. Third and fourth category entries will be judged on beauty, uniqueness and fulfilled intent. 

Students must submit their project with their name, address, school name and grade by Sunday, January 31, 2016. One winner will be selected from each category. Each winner will have their artwork displayed at Rep. Davidsmeyer’s Legislative Office in Springfield.

“The 100th Legislative District is full of talented young people. This contest is a great way to display the artistic talent that our students possess. I can’t wait to see the beautiful and stunning projects that our students produce,” said Davidsmeyer.
