SPRINGFIELD –State Representative C.D. Davidsmeyer (R-Jacksonville) today made the following statement in response to Governor Bruce Rauner’s State of the State Address.
“Governor Rauner presented us with an honest evaluation of Illinois’ dire financial situation. Our number one priority needs to be improving the state’s economy through job creation. I am looking forward to getting deeper into his proposals to turn the state around. I was especially pleased to hear him speak about the need to hire more correctional officers to bring down overtime costs and help keep our communities safe. It was also exciting to hear the Governor renew his commitment to increasing K-12 education funding. The budget address two weeks from today should provide us with even more details.”
